Hi All,
I recently learned about cash flow budgeting when I started working for a financial counseling agency. It is still not my preferred method of budgeting but I hear of great benefits to budgeting this way. Anyone ever tried or have reasons why they like it?
Here’s a summary of what it…[Read more]

Thanks for your replies! I’m definitely going to look into the solo 401k and keep it as an option when I do decide to take my leap.

A friend of mine knew someone that got onto bitcoin when they were very cheap and now his bitcoins are worth thousands. I’m a little scared to try it myself but please keep us updated because I really am interested in how this world of currency plays out.

Hi All,
I go back and forth probably 5 times a month on whether or not I should take the leap into entrepreneurship. Every time I say no because I’m scared to lose the benefits my employer has. Retirement pack is one of them. Do any of you have suggestions or can give advice on what you would do to make sure you can retire if you’re and entrepreneur?

I think his idea of living without debt is doable but not for most. If most people waited to buy things in cash (house, car, school, etc.) they may literally be waiting so long that they can’t enjoy it or may never obtain it. Income is a huge factor and sometimes you need that debt in order to make more money (business loan, school loan, house – w…[Read more]

I’m looking into this too and what I decided to do was look at big expenses I can scale back. My first thought is my car. It’s due to be turned in and instead of getting another one I’m considering going without one for 6 months to a year. That would get me back on track. If that isn’t an option I would take a look at things you have on auto re…[Read more]

Hi all,
I was at an event yesterday and learned a bit about life insurance policies. I’m still a bit on the fence about them but I wanted to know if any of you have one and are you using it as part of your track to retirement?

Income is my number one problem. I can save and save and save but I took a pay cut and it’s starting to hurt. So while looking for a new full time job I’ve gotten a holiday job, I manage social media for clients and I pick up income blogging. Anything to hustle and make sure I can live lol

I would tell my former self that 5 years from now the thing that I purchased really won’t mean anything in the future but debt. I also love that you mentioned diversifying your streams of income. That’s something I wish to do as well.

My mom moved out of the state so I no longer have a built in babysitter for my dog. Me and the dog are just sad without her but now I’m finding that I need additional help with my pup. I’ll be going away for a conference and I’m paying my little cousin to house sit/watch the dog.
I’ve always budgeted for her health care and grooming but dog…[Read more]

I choose to make donations through my business for the tax credits and it also helps to avoid taking money out of my personal accounts. It also makes me think about the initiative and if it fits well with my brand. Even if you don’t have a business its still good to think about yourself as a brand and what that brand would support financially. If…[Read more]

Antoinette Minor – Ambassador replied to the topic Property Value Has Doubled…Would You Sell to Pay-off Debt in the forum Manage your debt 7 years, 3 months ago
My grandmom always thought of homes as an investment and never a “forever” decision like many people. Its an opportunity to build wealth. With that said, I think if you’re not tied down to the house so much emotionally then go ahead and sell. I would look into other areas that are affordable and wouldn’t eat up the money you earned or a an area…[Read more]

Stacey I think the holiday fund is a fabulous idea. I don’t have a large family but Christmas always seems to creep up on me so I put money aside so I’m not in a bind during that time.
Other than that I have auto transfer to a savings and its totally come in handy on more than one occasion! It pays to pay yourself first especially when you don’t…[Read more]

Thanks Kayla! I was so grateful that a lot of things were donated and Craigslist/Facebook Market has actually been a gem. I found some great stuff just by looking at posts from people in more “affluent areas.” They were basically giving things away.

Hi All,
I have plenty of things from my old place to take to my new place. I’m really happy to be taking it out of storage and freeing up some cash! Anywho, I realized that I’m still in need of a few things that I need or that I gave away during my last move. I really wasn’t thrilled about purchasing all new kitchen items. I really like your point Cara. Most of us tie in the dollar amount with how we feel about that person and that’s not how it should be at all.
I also really love brunch ideas Stacey!
