Great that you were able to reach a happy medium here. Compromising on financial purchases is NOT always easy, but whenever my husband and I have issues like this, we make a huge effort to communicate our positions in an honest and open fashion. I’m the saver in the family and he’s the spender, but I’m slowly learning how to give him the ability to spend a bit every now and then while still saving for our long-term goals. I mean, we DO have to live a little, right? But we’re always sure to look at our 3-6 month financial goals before making any big purchases. Hope your hubby likes his car! – Kayla
