I haven’t, but my in-laws did with their parents and I know it was really difficult. They had them sell their home to generate some cash, which went to paying off any outstanding debt. They then set them up in a very affordable apartment which they could make work with the social security and cash that was leftover from the home. Good luck!

I can’t speak to this personally but hearing from a good friend who is a mortgage broker, sock away as much cash as you can to put down a hefty down payment, which reduces your risk level in their eyes. Good luck!

We’ve been thinking about doing the same. I have several friends who have either rental hoomes or small multi-family units and they all feel like it’s the quickest way to build wealth. Most of them are generating enough income to purchase an additional unit every 1-2 years.
