If you don’t have dental insurance, or if your coverage is limited, here are some ideas others have used to save money on dental care.

    1. Visit a dental school. Advanced students offer procedures like cleanings and filling cavities for a fraction of the usual cost in a dentist’s office.

    2. Comparison shop online. Many people find affordable dental coverage online for standard procedures like fillings, X-rays, and cleanings.

    3. Ask for a discount. Talk to your dentist and tell him or her about your financial situation. Many practitioners will consider a payment plan or will reduce their fees outright, on a case by case basis.
